Completed in late 1907 the brick and stone structure was embellished with Beaux Arts carvings of garlands, wreaths, lion's heads and scrolls. The first two stories were embellished with expenses of glass, on the second floor a full wall of fine decorated French windows was created. Above the second floor windows a decorative medallion announcing 'HOLTZ', adorned by a pair of odd creatures, part griffin part cornucopia. It conveyed Paris on 20th Street. Throughout the years the building and the 2nd floor homed successful commercial activities. Today the Holtz Mixed-used Condo building is comprised of 4 floors of commercial spaces and the 8 floors above of residences. The 2nd floor, the grand loft space consists of, 14 feet ceiling height, with original columns and prewar details that have maintained their grandeur.
